Corporate Social Responsibility and Business Ethics in the Supply Chain

The topics to be covered will include:

  • Develop and implement a code of business conduct for the supply management function
  • Organization’s Code of Ethics
  • Establish and monitor programs for sustainability and environmental responsibility
  • Implement, monitor, and promote organizational and supply chain health and safety policies and procedures
  • Establish and monitor social responsibility programs including corporate citizenship and community outreach

The presentation will be followed by Q&A and breakout sessions to examine 3-4 business cases on Corporate social responsibility (CSR) which is a type of international private business self-regulation that aims to contribute to societal goals of a philanthropic, activist, or charitable nature by engaging in or supporting volunteering or ethically-oriented practices.

Supply Management leader with a Certified Purchasing Manager (ISM C.P.M.) certification, a Certified Professional in Supply Management (ISM CPSM)
certification, a Certified Professional in Contract Management (NCMA CPCM) certification and a Commercial Contract Manager–Advanced Practitioner
(WCC CCC‐AP) certification who advises and consults on indirect and expense category management, sourcing, supplier contract negotiation, supplier
relationship management and supplier contract portfolio management requirements for cross functional domestic and global business unit teams.

Jim is currently the principle of JRM Supplier Consulting, LLC., was previously employed by Ricoh USA, Inc. in the Document Management Solutions Design industry for 19+ years in progressive roles from buyer to senior category management lead; supporting all corporate shared service and sales business units as needed with strategic planning, sourcing, contract negotiation and contract management related to their categories of spend. Prior to that Jim was a purchasing supervisor for a national home health care firm for 2 years, warehouse supervisor for a local home health care delivery firm for 7 years and a store manager in the home improvement retail industry for 7 years.

Jim is currently the Treasurer of the Institute for Supply Management Philadelphia chapter and previously served as the immediate Past President, President, 1st VP, 2nd VP and Board Director. Jim holds an MBA in Contract and Acquisition Management from American Graduate University and a
Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from LaSalle University where he majored in Management and Marketing and is an ISM qualified CPSM exam instructor.
