Holiday Sip & Celebrate

December 16, 2020
5:30 PM - 6:30 PM

Virtual Holiday Celebration

Join ISM-Philadelphia for a holiday sip and networking virtual gathering with Toastmaster and ISM Board Member Sharon Manker, M.Ed.   Sharon will lead the group through a special sharing as we sip and toast the year that we will all remember and share our wishes for 2021!

Sharon Manker, M.Ed – National Supplier Diversity Coordinator, American Water Company and ISM-Philadelphia Board Member provides an hour of sipping with the Rose/Thorn Virtual Icebreaker for ISM Members to connect and celebrate the holiday season.

Each person shares a “thorn” (a woe), “rose” (a joy), and “bud”(something that you are looking forward).

THORN: a woe from the day
ROSE: a joy from the day
BUD: something that you are looking forward to

It is important to note that reflections should begin with a thorn, move into the rose, and end with a bud. The intention is to end with a happy memory and something to look forward to. It is also important to note that participants may have more than one rose to share, therefore, creating a bouquet. For our community, the prompts gave us permission to share more deeply about how we were feeling which inspired richer conversations.

Icebreakers are an important tool in this type of garden, our supply chain ecosystem.
