Becoming an effective negotiator begins with understanding your negotiation style, the negotiation process and how to conduct a successful negotiation. Learn a step-by-step process for preparing, planning and conducting a successful negotiation. In addition to exercises and real-world examples, this session provides an opportunity to practice what you've learned through developing a negotiation strategy and conducting an actual negotiation. Following the negotiation simulation, a debriefing clarifies the learning points.


Speaker: Mark Grieco is an attorney, a member of the Florida Bar, and senior partner at Grieco & Scalera, PA.  Mr. Grieco focuses on contracts, dividing his time between lecturing and assisting clients in contract drafting, negotiation, performance and litigation.  He also assists companies in enhancing their contracts using best practices for the purchase of goods, services and technology.  Mr. Grieco is a world-wide lecturer in the field of contract law, negotiations, software agreements and purchasing.  He has been an educator for the Institute for Supply Management for over 15 years.  He has taught business professionals for such diverse companies as Disney, FP&L, Holcim, Sony, Home Depot, Oracle, Coca Cola, and GE.  He also works with companies to standardize contracts using industry-specific best practices and teaches in-house courses. 

Mr. Grieco has an undergraduate degree in business and an MBA from Texas Tech University and a Juris Doctor degree from Quinnipiac University.  He also assists companies across all industries and types of purchases large and small, always with an eye to managing risk.  Mr. Grieco is a frequent lecturer for the Institute for Supply Management and helped with ISM’s Mastery Model.  He has written several articles, has recorded over a dozen podcasts, filmed almost 100 videos and lectured at numerous conferences.  He can be seen annually at the ISM conference.  He has published two books.  One on divorce called Divorce: a four letter word and another book on contracts called Purchasing and the Law.  The second book is available on Amazon.  He has just finished several new courses on the subjects of power negotiations, statements of work, project management, contract administration and services.  He is working on his third book which will focus on contract terms and conditions.
